“El dorado. Un territorio”, la nueva exhibi-ción que llega a las salas de Proa desde el 1 de abril y hasta agosto próximo, es una oportunidad para revisar el impacto de uno de los mitos americanos más influyentes en la historia de la humanidad.

Human physical perception seems to be limited by our bodies. There is a lot of information in the universe that we cannot see, hear, touch or taste. However, by using technology to extend our senses, we can see what’s invisible to our physical selves. By doing so, we have discovered that plants, animals, fungi, and other organisms have perception systems able to visualize a very complex and different world than the one we know.

The Biennial positions Brazil as an international reference point in the visual arts. In addition to promoting integration between the countries of Mercosul through art and promoting Latin American art as a whole, the Biennial provides access to culture and art for thousands of people. The Mercosul Biennial has a different nature from other biennials in the world.

We are delighted to announce that we are one of the nine nominees of the Berlin Art Prize.

Curated by writer Ekow Eshun, and showcasing photography, prints, textile, installation and video, We Are History presents works which are moving, lyrical and thought-provoking, capturing nature as a place of both beauty and fragility. Featuring artists Alberta Whittle, Allora & Calzadilla, Carolina Caycedo, Louis Henderson, Malala Andrialavidrazana, Mazenett Quiroga, Otobong Nkanga, Zineb Sedira and a newly commissioned work by multidisciplinary artist Shiraz Bayjoo, the exhibition interrogates the environmental issues facing the southern hemisphere by looking to the past and drawing important insight from the cultural practices and knowledge systems of indigenous peoples.

“A Natural History of Ruins” is a group exhibition exploring the implications of representation outside of language in order to imagine and speculate on how non-human entities might participate in disturbing an anthropocentric interpretation of extinction. The show is curated by Colombian Catalina Lozano.

Art Dubai 2019 will feature the second edition of Residents, dedicated to solo presentations from invited galleries whose artists will take part in a 4-8 week residency in the UAE. For the 2019 edition, Residents will focus on Latin America. The programme encourages artists to immerse themselves in the local art scene to create a body of work which merges their distinct artistic practice with their surroundings. Participation in Art Dubai Residents is by invitation only.

Otra visita a la escultura es una muestra que habla del error y el acierto y reúne obra de artistas de diferentes generaciones, pero sobre todo, que trabajan desde diferentes prácticas artísticas: artistas contemporáneos, plásticos, visuales o post-internet dialogan sobre repetición, intentos y procesos.

Siguiendo con el modelo de generar diálogos entre distintas generaciones, Instituto de Visión se complace en presentar una exposición que explora el trabajo experimental de la Visionaria Sara Modiano y la obra reciente del dúo Mazenett Quiroga.
Precisamente desde allí se genera un eco con la obra de Lina Mazenett y David Quiroga (1989,1985) cuya investigación llamada “No digas mañana, porque te llevará al jaguar” parte de las geometrías que se manifiestan en la naturaleza mineral, vegetal, animal y astral. 

Energ(ética); arte y energía sostenible señala las contradicciones en la generación y consumo de
energía, así como las implicaciones éticas y políticas de las decisiones personales, alejándose de
una aproximación moralista al tema. Esta exposición incluye obras de artistas que trabajan sobre
diversos aspectos del problema: energía, trabajo, sostenibilidad, y sus implicaciones sociales y
políticas.
